Quickly add content to your WhyPark domains

Hi all. I just created a tool the helps add content to your WhyPark sites. I called it WhyPark Article Injector (WPAI for short). I am releasing it as freeware. You can download it at http://www.after5webdesign.com/wpai.html. It creates a list of the first 4000 domains you have hosted at WhyPark and then directs you to Article Dashboard where you can find articles pertinent to your niches. When you find an article you would like to add to one of your sites, simply select the desired domain from you list of sites and click the E-Zine Ready link. Once the E-Zine Ready page loads, press the Add Content button (or press Alt + C) and that article will get added to your selected WhyPark site. It automatically keeps track of which articles were added to which domain so that you can't accidentally duplicate content on your site.

Nice, I'll try it out when I get a chance. Might be a while though. Any way to tell which articles are used on other sites (not your own) to prevent duplicate content?

Not really. The best you can do is take a line from the article and google it (in quotes to only get exact matches). You could also use CopyScape.com.

One of the drawbacks of using content from an article directory is that it will most likely be used by other websites. However that isn't as big of a problem as it seems since lots of newspaper sites use the same AP articles for their news. The trick is becoming the best source for that article. Hi Tim;

I just downloaded and tried your software...AWESOME! Thank you very much. I have one question, though. I just accidentaly added an article to the wrong site...how do I remove the article? I meant to put it on a different site. It was an article on planning a vacation, and I accidentaly put it on one of my sites dealing with stopping foreclosure. Definitely NOT a good mix.

Thanks j9. The articles get added to your site just as if you manually copied and pasted them into the form (because essentially that's all the software does). To remove an article from a site, just go to your WhyPark control panel, find the site in question, click the Custom Pages link, find the article you want to remove and click the X. Its the same process as if you decided you wanted to get rid of a custom page that was added without using Article Injector.

When I tried this I was only able to see the Article Dashboard window. Clicking on "Add Sites" briefly displays the Whypark site but it quickly redirects back to the Article Dashboard. There is a narrow blank pane on the left, I assume for my list of sites but it displays nothing. This sounds like a great idea but perhaps there is some setting that I'm missing to make it work?

Bryan, same experience. I am using Google Chrome, and need to re-try on IE o/s.

Tim is pretty sharp. I'm anxious to see the program in motion.

I've tried it with both Firefox and IE set as default browser with the same result.

Your default browser shouldn't matter. You do still have Internet Explorer though, right?

When you see WhyPark flash by briefly, the software is looking for your sites. I'm guessing you are seeing just the front page for WhyPark and not your site list. Do you have the Remember Me box checked when you log in normally? Regardless, try this: Open WPAI, and in the address bar type in http://www.WhyPark.com/sites/stats.cfm. If it takes you directly to the stats page then I'll have to go back to the idea board. If not, log in and then click the Add Sites button.

Phew! I was really stumped until about 4 am this morning. Good thing you guys mentioned that your default browsers were not IE.

OK, I've got a new problem. When I use the Google search box at articledashboard I get a script error:

I tried setting IE as default but it made no difference. This script error does not occur just using IE outside of WPAI.

That is a javascript error (likely with the Google Adsense code or maybe the Google Analytics code). If you open IE and clear your temporary internet files, it will get rid of the faulty js script that is cached on your PC. When I wrote Article Distributor 5 years ago, there wasn't much I could do about these because there was a bug in the WebBrowser control which caused it to only suppress the first javascript error. I was trying to find to find the particular bug reoprt again to reference, but I'm not finding it. In fact, it looks as if they may have actually fixed it! I'll set the Silent property of the WebBrowser control and see what happens. Even if it isn't fixed and doesn't suppress all javascript errors, stopping some would be helpful. I'll let you know when I get the updated installer uploaded.

Thanks for the response, Tim. I tried clearing my IE cache but still get the same error in WPAI. I'll try again when you get the new installer ready.

I just uploaded a new installer. I have not added the bit about watching for a login window yet, but I did add code to attempt to silence the javascript error popups.

I uninstalled the old version and then downloaded the installer from your site and installed, but received the following error during the install:
"Error 1904. Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieframe.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147467263. Contact your support personnel"

Clicking on retry got the same result, but clicking on continue seemed to finish the install. I opened WPAI and my sites list was already there (data not deleted during uninstall). When I tried to search for an article I got the same script error as yesterday.

Next I uninstalled again and also deleted the WPAI folder, and then redownloaded the installer and tried again - getting the same error 1904 message above. I clicked continue to finish the install and then opened WPAI, and as expected my sites list was blank. The difference this time is that the procedure you listed above to add sites did not work. After logging into WhyPark I could view my sites in the WhyPark window, but clicking "Add Sites" did not populate the site list on the left and the browser window redirected to the Article Dashboard site.
